Cognitive Bias Modification

Cognitive bias modification (CBM) is a CBT-based intervention aimed at altering harmful cognitive biases, such as an individual’s tendency to focus on negative information or interpret ambiguous situations in a negative way. Through repeated exercises designed to shift attention toward more neutral or positive information, CBM helps individuals retrain their thought patterns and reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression. By modifying these biases, individuals can improve their ability to respond to stressful or anxiety-provoking situations in a more balanced and realistic way. CBM is often delivered through computer-based programs and has shown promise in reducing anxiety and depression symptoms.
