Depression with mixed features occurs when individuals experience symptoms of depression along with some symptoms of mania, such as increased energy, irritability, or restlessness. This is often seen in Bipolar Disorder but can occur in Major Depressive Disorder as well. Treatment usually involves mood stabilizers and antidepressants to manage the conflicting symptoms.
