Dysthymic Disorder

Dysthymic Disorder, now known as Persistent Depressive Disorder (PDD), is a chronic form of depression lasting for at least two years. Individuals may experience ongoing low mood, fatigue, and feelings of hopelessness, but the symptoms are generally less severe than those of Major Depressive Disorder. Treatment usually involves a combination of psychotherapy, particularly cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and medication to help manage symptoms.
