Dysthymic Disorder, now called Persistent Depressive Disorder (PDD), is a chronic form of depression that lasts for at least two years. Symptoms are typically milder but longer-lasting than those of Major Depressive Disorder, and include feelings of sadness, low energy, and difficulty enjoying life. Treatment usually involves a combination of antidepressants and psychotherapy, particularly CBT, to manage symptoms and improve long-term well-being.
