Unipolar Depression

Unipolar Depression, commonly referred to as Major Depressive Disorder, is characterized by persistent feelings of sadness, lack of interest, and low energy, without the mood swings seen in Bipolar Disorder. Individuals with unipolar depression do not experience manic or hypomanic episodes. Treatment typically includes therapy, such as CBT, and medication, such as antidepressants, to address the depressive symptoms.
