Ziv (pronounced “zeev”) is an incredible psychotherapist. Her patients describe her as intuitive and passionate. She earned her MA in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University. She completed her internship at Exodus Recovery where she specialized in treating issues of dual diagnosis (substance abuse with co-occurring mental health disorders) as well as people struggling with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and trauma. Ziv also worked on the residential wing of the same program specifically for adolescents with eating disorders. She specialized in teen counseling and approached care in both individual, group and family therapy formats.
In regards to treatment approach, she is experienced and effective in Narrative, Humanistic, Attachment, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Psychodynamic forms of treatment. She engages her patients both empathically and collaboratively. Ultimately, she believes in providing an environment in which therapy is tailored to each client’s unique desires and needs while providing them with an experience of insight, growth, and healing. She specializes in working with children, teens, and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, eating disorders, addiction, trauma, grief, relationship issues, and life transitions. She is also highly skilled at helping couples, both married and dating develop successful relationships built on honesty, trust, and recognition.
As a unique part of her approach, Ziv integrates the Japanese philosophy of Kintsugi into her psychotherapy. Kintsugi teaches us to embrace human flaws, and appreciate the beauty and strength that comes from putting the pieces back together. She will lead you through freeing yourself of expectations, comparisons, insecurities, and uncertainty. Her patients report that her blending of therapeutic style and treatment philosophy makes her an extremely effective and caring therapist. She will support and challenge you throughout your journey at the Keil Psych Group.
